Volunteer Peer Recovery Specialists


Volunteers work is the heart of Parent Support Network and together as individuals to support one another to acheive health, wellness, and recovery for ourselves, children, youth, and young adults by sharing our lived experiences and knowledge of community resources. Parent Support Network with a group of committed partners provides ongoing training, work experiences, and steps towards employment in the field of peer support services.


What is involved in becoming a Volunteer Peer Specialist at PSN?


  • Submit Application 

  • Participate in face to face interview session 

  • Participate in our 12 hour orientation training

  • Complete 8 hours of direct service hours with coach or supervisor 


What is the ongoing commitment of a Volunteer Peer Specialist?


  • Complete ongoing volunteer hours based on your strengths, skills, and availability

  • Participate in ongoing training and learning opportunities provided by PSN

  • Participate in monthly supervision meetings 


How does becoming a Volunteer Peer Specialist support employment opportunities?

  • Work towards completion of the Peer Recovery Specialist Certification 

  • Participate in volunteer placement opportunities with agencies and organizations in your community
