Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Supervisors

Community of Practice 

The need for Certified Peer Recovery Specialist Supervisors is paramount as the workforce begins to expand in the hiring of Certified Peer Recovery Specialists across healthcare and social service programs to deliver peer based recovery support services that are Medicaid reimbursable. 

In order to become Medicaid reimbursable Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) Supervisors are required to participate in our supervisor training for a total of 8 hours, which is completed in two training sessions.

Training Session 1:  Introduction to Recovery Oriented System of Care and Peer Based Recovery Support Service Delivery 

This 2.5 hour training is currently being offered the following dates at Parent Support Network

9:00 am to 11:30 am 

September 4, 2019

October 1, 2019 

November 5, 2019

December 3, 2019 

Training Session 2: CPRS Supervisor Training 

This 6.5 hour training is currently being offered the following dates at Parent Support Network

9:00 am to 4:00 pm 

September 6, 2019

October 3, 2019

November 7, 2019

December 5, 2019

It is required that all CPRS Supervisors be a CPRS who has at least two years working in the field or has a clinical license in behavioral health recognized by the RI Certification Board or state of Rhode Island.   

Parent Support Network is required to provide BHDDH with an up to date list of CPRS Supervisors who have completed CPRS Supervisor Certification Training requirements.
